Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment to Accessibility

MS Home Health Care is committed to making our website and services accessible to people with disabilities – including the multiple sclerosis patients who are our primary audience. Many of our users have vision changes, cognitive symptoms, motor impairments, or fatigue that make standard website navigation difficult. We design our website with these realities in mind.

Standards We Follow

We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities.

Accessibility Features We Implement

Visual

  • High color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards
  • Text resizable up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • Alternative text for all meaningful images
  • Logical heading structure for screen reader navigation
  • No content that relies on color alone to convey information
  • Compatible with screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver

Motor

  • All functionality available via keyboard navigation
  • Visible focus indicators for keyboard users
  • No time limits on form completion (where possible)
  • Large clickable areas for buttons and links
  • Forms work with voice control software

Cognitive

  • Clear, plain-language content
  • Consistent navigation across pages
  • Logical page structure with descriptive headings
  • No flashing or strobing content that could trigger seizures or affect MS patients with photosensitivity
  • Simple, predictable interactions

Auditory

  • Captions for video content
  • Transcripts available for audio content
  • No content that relies on sound alone

MS-Specific Accessibility Considerations

Because our primary audience includes people with multiple sclerosis, we pay particular attention to accessibility issues common in MS:

  • High-contrast design supports patients with optic neuritis residuals
  • Simple navigation supports patients with cognitive symptoms
  • Generous click targets support patients with hand weakness or tremor
  • No timed sessions that could disadvantage patients with MS fatigue
  • Mobile-friendly design supports patients using the site from a wheelchair or bed
  • Content available in English and Spanish
