Intro
MS Home Health Care, powered by Focus Family Care, exists to support every person whose life is touched by multiple sclerosis — patients, family caregivers, and the medical professionals who refer them. This page is the front door for each audience we serve. Find yourself below, and follow the link to the resources, services, and answers built specifically for you.
If You Have MS
If you are living with multiple sclerosis and noticing that things at home are getting harder — fatigue you can’t push through, falls or near-falls, bladder issues that interrupt your day, medications you’re juggling without help — you may qualify for Medicare-covered home health care. A registered nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist can come to you, on a schedule, working with your neurologist, with no copay if you’re on Original Medicare.
If You're an Older Adult with MS
Florida has one of the largest senior populations in the country, and the MS community here includes many people who have aged into Medicare with MS, plus those diagnosed with late-onset MS after age 50. Older MS patients face unique challenges: more comorbidities, more medications, longer disease duration, and a Medicare system that is genuinely well-suited to chronic care if you know how to use it.
If You or Your Loved One Has Advanced or Progressive MS
Advanced MS — the stage where mobility is significantly limited, daily care needs are constant, and the question of how to stay home becomes urgent — is exactly the population our program was built for. Skilled nursing for catheter management, pressure injury prevention, dysphagia screening, and complex medication oversight. Maintenance therapy, protected by the Jimmo Settlement, that continues as long as it’s needed. A nursing home is not the only option.
If You're Caring for Someone with MS
80% of MS care in this country is provided by unpaid family caregivers, and on average that means 6.5 hours per day — the equivalent of nearly a full-time job, on top of the rest of your life. Caregiver burnout is not a personal failing; it’s a predictable consequence of trying to do too much for too long without help. Skilled home health is the help that exists for exactly this. We bring trained clinicians into the home to manage the medical pieces, freeing you to be a spouse, an adult child, a parent — instead of a one-person clinical team.
If You're a Physician, Discharge Planner, or Case Manager
We work directly with neurologists, primary care physicians, hospital discharge planners, and case managers across South Florida to provide Medicare-certified skilled home health for MS patients. We handle OASIS documentation rigorously to protect your patients (and your referral practice) from coverage denials. We communicate clinical updates back to your office after every visit. We can complete bedside intake and start care within 24 to 48 hours of a hospital discharge.
